About
You hear the term ‘living legend’ a lot, but in the world of percussion it is the only term applicable to Steven Schick, Professor of Music at the University of California. He has been a champion of new music for four decades, and has premiered more than 150 new works. Over three programs at ANAM he explores one of the defining developments in the world of 20th and 21st century music: the increasing importance of percussion, and the blossoming of major works written for solo percussion and percussion ensemble.
Anna Thorvaldsdottir - Aura
David Lang - The So-Called Laws of Nature
Anahita Abbasi - Je Tu Nous (Situation III)
Harrison Birtwistle - For O, for O, the Hobby-Horse is Forgot Australian Premiere
