About
Learn how to create aesthetically pleasing shapes and rhythms with tropical flowers at this relaxing floristry class in Melbourne.
Tropical flowers, as well as leaves, have very strong lines which makes using them perfectly suited to learn lines and shapes with. Over time florists developed lines to standardise their work and these lines became familiar with their clients. The classical A-line, the crescent moon and the vertical arrangements of the seventies come to mind.
Modern floristry uses lines very differently to create shapes and rhythms that are both pleasing as well as surprising to the eye. This workshop teaches you how to create lines, bend and shape them to suit your arrangement and style.
Manipulating leaves form an important part of modern flower arranging with techniques like caging, weaving, curling and twisting adding drama to any arrangement. We play with all these techniques to produce a dramatic arrangement.
Due to current advice on public gatherings, please contact the host of this event to confirm it is proceeding as planned.
