About

An annual fishing competition organised by Flinder Island Lions Club. Traditionally taking place at the North East River, recent years have seen it cycling through different local locations, with the 2019 competition taking place off the town of Lady Barron, and the 2020 competition is set to take place off the main town of Whitemark. There are several categories for both adults and children to enter their catch into, and each participant is automatically entered into a lucky ticket draw, to be drawn at the end of the competition! There is a barbecue lunch available at midday for participants, and spectators can partake of the meal for a small fee, though everyone is encouraged to brink their own drinks, chairs and sunscreen. All profits from the day go to the Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation. Entry Cost Child $5 - For children under 16. Adult $15 Family $25 All tickets $10 - For those who want to enjoy the barbecue but aren't partaking in the actual competition.
