About

The Carrathool Races are the epitome of the 'bush race' meeting. Organised by the Carrathool Jockey Club in the small town of Carrathool, the small community of friendly souls, bursts at the seams with over 2,500 excited race lovers and larrikins ready for the race meeting. This event is one of the main events for the community each year so locals work tirelessly to organise a fantastic day. The Jockey Club Committee caters for everyone's needs with a continuous barbecue, publicans booth, refreshments and entertainment at the racecourse continuing well into the night. Fashions on the field are a feature for ladies and gentlemen, as well as the Jillaroo's sprint and Jackaroo's dash, which always musters a great crowd. The Jillaroos and Jackaroos race is a hotly contested foot race, through the dirt and dust that leaves the participants exhilarated and the cheer squads hoarse with delight.
