About

Shine a light on the darkest night with Survivors of Suicide and Friends. This year's Winter Solstice is on Tuesday, June 21 from 5:00 pm, at QEII Square Albury. The Solstice will again be hosted in person and will be streamed online for those who cannot physically attend. This is a free event. The Winter Solstice was created to encourage candid conversations to destigmatise the once taboo topic of suicide, and provide a heart-warming event for those with real, lived experiences of mental ill health in the community. They come together on the darkest night of the year to share stories, to support, and to remember those they've lost. They will be hosting guest speakers Zak Williams, son of actor Robin Williams, Orygen’s head of suicide prevention research – Associate Professor Jo Robinson and Indira Naidoo, one of Australia's most popular broadcasters and authors alongside the ever-wonderful MC David Astle. Join for their tenth year of reflecting, remembering, connecting and conversation.
